Steel Grating
In WellStep, the steel bar gratings are made by forge welding with high efficiency and high dimensional accuracy. The grating can be supplied in stock panel or customized sizes with plain or serrated surface. We offer both flat bar and I bar. The gratings are available in mild steel (galvanized or untreated), stainless steel and aluminum.
The gratings are made in strict accordance with the patterns. We never increase the bar pitch behind our clients’ back to reduce our cost and of course cheating on materials and coatings are prohibited without any doubt. The bar thickness and cross bar diameter will be specified clearly for each order. To have our customer always get what they are promised is our constant commitment.
General terminology for Grating:
1. Load Bar – a flat bar withstanding the main load, aligned parallel to the span direction.
2. Load Bar pitch – The distance from center to center of two adjacent load bars.
3. Cross Bar – the connecting bars, made from twisted bar, round bar or flat bar, which extend across the load bars.
4. Cross Bar pitch – The distance from centre to centre of two adjacent cross bars.
5. Length – The maximum dimensions of a grating panel, measured parallel to the load bars, and in the same direction as the load bars.
6. Width – The maximum dimension of a grating panel, measured perpendicular to the load bars, and in the same direction of the cross bars.
